ha!larious

For the most part I liked my classes so far and never really felt “lost”, but now I’m actually starting to feel that “UCLA doesn’t care about you” mentality in the way that the system is set up. BASICALLY right now I’m really pissed at Sociology 20 and Chicano Studies 10B, two classes I don’t even need, ESPECIALLY Chicano 10B. Basically in Soc 20 they’re entering those of us without “real scheduling conflicts” into a lottery if we’re in a Tuesday discussion to be forced to move to Thursdays. I’m technically free at those times Thursday BUT then I’d be on campus for a ridiculously long times on Thursdays, affecting my eating schedule when I’m already paying a shitload in dorms and my overall health. AND THEN, since I barely enrolled in Chicano 10B like yesterday, I e-mailed my TA about catch up and apparently there’s this shitty rule about since I already missed two sections and attendance is SEVERELY weighted so that each additional absence after 1/2 excused (class & section syllabuses don’t even match up wtf) is a dropped letter grade. If I had to add it late how the hell would I even be able to go to what I already missed?! I don’t even need this class, and I don’t see why they’re being so strict when it’s not even a core class, people are taking this for like GEs.
Obviously I’m really pissed and frustrated and I don’t know what I’m going to do with my schedule but I’m really considering dropping both and just taking something else. Fuck this shit. I’m tired of having to conform to horrible grading policies and stupid TA rules that don’t even make sense. DON’T EVEN FUCKING EMAIL US ON THE LAST FREAKIN DAY TO CHANGE OUR SCHEDULES WITHOUT PENALTY ABOUT SOMETHING SO CRUCIAL. I did NOT see it coming that Stats would be my favorite class. I thought I had rights as a student but I guess I don’t at all.
