Disney’s Mulan Deleted Scene: Reflection

In my opinion, deleting this scene from “Reflection” was a terrible mistake. The song is beautiful, don’t get me wrong, but this added part takes a somewhat disparing song and makes being different empowering and strong.

Yeah, Lea Salonga was heartbroken that they cut the song. I can understand why. This part is inspirational.

I watched the movie recently for the first time since my childhood and I realised just how short Reflection actually goes for. They really needed this scene not only for beautiful imagery (Oh God, the thought of Mulan’s long hair as she’s racing through the wind, just let me die happy) and character development/story-telling, but for the pacing of the song. I honestly don’t understand why they could take this out.

Agreeing with everything here, particularly the empowerment of this scene as she literally frees herself from the bridal clothing.  Also, just the scenery porn!

Got serious chills watching this, not sure why. Just beautiful! No opinion on if it should have been included or not but definitely glad I got to see this.
